Every year, an annual marathon is held in the streets of Copenhagen and up to 10.000 people including professional athletes participate in the event.
Copenhagen Marathon is one of my favourite events in the city and being a photographer, I naturally always bring a camera with me. This time, I was situated at the end of the goal line, so I had a much better coverage than ever before. While the weather was gorgeous, the sun was very harsh, so I hope no one ran in panda costumes this year (if you did, I apologize for not taking your photo).
The calm before the storm.
Such awesome bikes!
Get ready, set, go!
The fastest man in goal was Julius Ndirtu Karinga who finished first with a record breaking time of 2 hours, 12 minutes and 11 seconds.
The fastest woman was Hana Teklu Zemedkun from Ethiopia who finished the marathon in 2 hours, 47 minutes and 24 seconds.
That awesome feeling you get when you cross the finish line during a marathon!
Just like football.
Sure, why not?
